the big radiator by itself WILL make a difference, but only after the temperature reaches the stock 180 degree thermostat rating. With the bigger radiator, it won't allow the car to warm up much more than 180 degrees. With a stock radiator, it'll get to over 200 degrees pretty easily. That's the gain with the bigger radiator. As far as the thermostat goes, the Nismo thermostat is rated at 160 degrees instead of 180. Therefore, you are seeing a 12-22 degree difference. So what is happening is that once you reach 160 degrees, the bigger radiator is keeping it close to that. If you had a stock radiator with the Nismo thermostat, the car may still get up to 180+. To say the bigger radiator is not good without the Nismo thermostat is not accurate. Radiators only control the temperature ABOVE the rated thermostat temperature. If the temperature rating is 180, your bigger radiator will not keep the temperatures below 180. It just won't happen since the thermostat won't open until 180.
